The team, above, l to r (Bev Vann, Maria Buckley, Caroline Hume-Kendall, Cath Hopkins, Jan Harrison, Wendy Briggs, Kira Barnes and Ladies Captain Carole Waights with the trophy) faced an excellent team from St Mellion.  The weather was atrocious it rained heavily from the moment the team were on the first tee until one hour before the finish.  The matches were all played in good spirits and nail biting on the front 9, but in true champions style the team moved up a gear on the back 9 and retained the trophy with a 6 1/2 to 1/2 win.

My thanks go to the team for playing so well in awful conditions and winning. To the caddies who battled to dry themselves but always put their player first – thank you so much.  Finally to the brave supporters who turned out to cheer the ladies on, thank you it is very much appreciated.
