CLCGA Championship

Seven St Enodoc ladies (Kira Barnes, Wendy Briggs, Maria Buckley, Jan Harrison, Cath Hopkins, Caroline HK, Bev Vann) teed up on a wet and windy Thursday to compete in this year’s County Championship.  36 holes later Kira Barnes,  Caroline HK and Jan Harrison had qualified into the match play stage of the Championship with Cath Hopkins and Wendy Briggs qualifying for the Plate.  Friday’s weather was little better with high winds making West Cornwall a challenge.  Kira, Jan, Cath and Caroline won their first round of match play in the morning.  After the pm session we had Kira and Cath going into the semi finals.
Saturday was a much better day, gentle breeze and sunshine. Cath was unfortunately knocked out on the 17th but Kira won and goes through to the final to be played on Sunday (36 holes match play).
Well done to everyone who competed, thanks also to the caddies who managed to keep themselves and their players dry, it couldn’t be done without you.
