Sunday 20th October saw a Rematch of last years final against West Cornwall GC at a very wet and windy Carlyon Bay GC. First match out saw Louis Archer & Brandon Armitage vs Rob Lewis and Ross Lawrence. St Enodoc would face a back nine charge from west Cornwall with 6 birdies in the final 9 holes to win the match on the 18th. Next match would see Steve chapman & Ian Jolliff vs Ethan Tempest & Lawrie Tremlett. Steady golf saw the West Cornwall pairing win 2&1. Third out saw Joe Combellack & Charlie Runnalls vs Jordan Musitano & Luke Stevens. Trailing for most of the match the St Enodoc team fought back to win 1up. Last match out saw George Tunbridge & Richard Jones vs Phil Weaver & Jack Kevern, more steady golf from West Cornwall gave them the win 3&2. Ninth man Neil Robinson kept the team within fighting distance with a 2&1 win vs Gary Wignell.
This left St Enodoc needing 5 points from the 8 afternoon singles. St Enodoc would get off to a fast start with a 6&5 win over Rob Lewis. This was then followed with a 4&3 win for Brandon Armitage over Ethan Tempest and a 3&2 win for Steve Chapman over Lawrie Tremlett. Ian Jolliff would get St Enodoc to within 1 point of victory with a solid 3&2 win over Jordan Musitano. The next two matches would come down to the 18th First with George Tunbridge narrowly losing 1dn to Ross Lawrence and Joe Combellack winning the 18th to Halve his match. West Cornwall would win the final match out with Phil Weaver 5&3 win over Richard Jones. This gave West Cornwall a 6.5 – 6.25 victory, the same as previous year’s final.
Although it was not meant to be this year the team played some great golf and came very close again against a strong West Cornwall team. We would like to thank all that came down and supported.
