The St Enodoc ladies 2022 Gammon Team had a resounding win yesterday against East Devon GC in the Tamar Trophy winning 6 and 1.

At last the clouds and drizzle that has hung over Cornwall for the last 5 days lifted to leave a reasonably calm day for St Enodoc to host the Tamar Trophy (winners of the scratch league in both Cornwall and Devon). The team of Kira Barnes (caddy Louis Archer); Wendy Briggs (caddy Trudie Tensjo); Caroline Hume-Kendall (caddy Fiona Lunt); Cath Hopkins (caddy Sarah Sandercock); Jan Harrison (caddy Avril Starling); Suzie Willmott (caddy Barbara Willmott); Bev Vann (caddy Sue Roworth) set off very determined to keep the Trophy this side of the Tamar. By the 9th everyone was either up or all square, “the loop” had its usual effect and put most of the St Enodoc players in a commanding position. All the matches were played in good spirits and it was a pleasure to play East Devon GC.

Thanks go to all the players and caddies who were an excellent team. Thanks also go to the several dozen supporters who spurred the team on, the greens team for the presentation of the course and finally to the staff in the clubhouse who looked after us with an excellent meal.
