CAW Cornish Bowl
On Sunday 13th October St Enodoc played St Austell at Mawgan Porth Golf Club. We always knew that this would be a tough game as they beat us last year. The handicaps were well matched with two of our pairs receiving one shot and the rest were level. The weather although dry was very cold. The first point went to St Austell when our 4th pair of Sacha Wheatman and Andy Griffiths (who was a last minute stand in) were defeated early. The first pair of Tom Richards and Ben Constable had a tough, close game but came out strong at the end and won 4 & 2. Our second pair Matt Hamley and Nick P Williams had a strong start with a birdie on the first and then going three up, were slowly brought back and were all square with three to play. They had a strong finish winning 2 & 1. Stuart Parkyn and Lee Griffin also had a tough game, eventually loosing 4 & 3. Our last pair Joe Tamblyn and Will fought hard and sealed the victory for St Enodoc by winning 3 & 2. The final result, a 3-2 win for St Enodoc. Well played all – Andy Golding Cornwall Bowl Captain.
